Qigong (pronounced chee-gung)
For three thousand years, the Chinese practice of qigong has been used as a holistic way to gain health, vitality, longevity and a sense of harmony with nature.
The word “Qi “ means life force energy or the energy that flows through all living things.
“Gong“ means cultivation or work. Gong is the practice and perseverance which brings benefits.
Qigong is the cultivation of qi which can be controlled and circulated through the body to unblock energy pathways and get rid of stagnation. The energy pathways, or meridians, are key to bringing qi to every cell in our system, keeping it strong and healthy.
While there are countless types, styles and forms of Qigong, the most prevalent are Medical Qigong, Martial Qigong and Spiritual Qigong. The focus of the practice I teach is Medical Qigong for healing and preventative health. It brings health, vitality and longevity and therefore adds years to your life and life to your years.
Qigong is an ancient Chinese practice that balances the energy of the body to bring health, vitality and harmony.
Why practice Qigong?
The many benefits of Qigong are recognized world-wide and have been documented by science. These benefits include: reduced inflammation, stronger immune system, less stress, and a greater sense of well-being.
Qigong is a form of Chinese Medicine that works as a complement to Western Medicine. By practicing Qigong after surgery, you are actively playing a role in your healing process.
What is a Qigong Practice?
Although many different Qigong practices exist, all include a focus on breathing, physical movement, and the importance of “intention.” Qigong movements are often described as a moving meditation because they are slow, relaxing and centering and help to transform stress into vital energy for a balanced connection of the body and mind..
